From second one we were dragged along a whirl of uptempo music, wild dancing, amazing costumes and clever scenery (farewell, red planks and blue M&S sheets) supported by the loudest and most enthusiastic audience I think I've ever seen in my life....being the first preview night, I guess a good part of it was family and friends to members of the cast, but still, their enthusiasm was just spontaneous and definitely infectious...I think I screamed louder than anybody else sitting in my row !!!

And what to say about the cast ??? Spot on, brilliant, outstanding, spring to mind...all so young and yet already so talented...with a special mention for Leanne who was just everything the part was about, and more...and such a lovely, gracious young lady when we greeted her at the stage door, giving her words of encouragement and support... but then they were all magnificent...the grown-ups weren't that bad either LOL !!! There is true (comical) chemistry between Michael and Mel Smith, and their big number 'You're timeless to me" was an absolute hoot...

As for Edna's performance...what to say ??? Michael IS Edna through and through and it's a real delight to see him act and dance...and the outfits...awww the outfits...and the wigs...in one word, outlandish !!!!! Just wait until you see his dress in the finale, it's just to die for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't disappointed in the story either, it was funny, witty, moving, and extremely dynamic at the same time....

In one word, it's when you want to get up and dance all the way through and are left wanting more that you know you have all the ingredients for a REAL HIT !!! WELL DONE !
