Grease star for Godspell

~ 22 June 1984 ~

He was the Travolta in the "Grease" stageplay, Chief Weasel in "Toad of Toad Hall" , a dancer, juggler, clown and magician and now "Jesus" - 24 year old Peter Bruce this week scooped the principal part in Aberystwyth Arts Centre's summer season musical "Godspell".

The Arts Centre has been lucky to gain the impressive talents of this all round professional actor whose superstar qualities and good looks should have the girls clamouring at the box office. He was chosen after weeks of auditioning by the show director Richard Cheshire.

Peter Bruce's charm and versatility makes him the ideal choice for the complex charismatic imagery that is "Jesus". His six weeks stay in Aberystwyth should help make "Godspell" the best summer show ever staged in the town

From July 14 - August 25

He joins and impressive cast of ten which include Welsh rock star and actor, Stifyn Parri, actresses Sian Howard, Carys Llewellyn, Gwyneth Hopkins, Donna Murphy and Sara Weymouth, and a talented group of young actors, Michael Ball , Phillip Aldridge and John Ramm.

Director Richard Cheshire, has been joined by musical director, Rob Mitchell, choreographer Anna Delaney and designers David Tinker and Tracy Spottiswoode.
