Godspell fans can't keep away
3 August 1984
The world-famous rock musical Godspell has so enthralled audiences at Aberystwyth Arts Centre that already people are going back to see it a second and third time.
This production by director Richard Cheshire is proving to be another landmark in Aberystwyth musicals, adding to his list of summer season hits.
The show is changing all the time. The young professional cast, settling into their roles, give each performance an improvised crispness and moments of very funny ad-lip humour. Every item of clothing in the show was bought in Aberystwyth shops. They're all modern and very colourful and already some have become collectors' items. The show's star, Peter Bruce, wears a stunning pair of trousers designed and made by the costume mistress, Sue Leet. The highest bid for them so far is 60 Pounds.
