How do you feel about hosting your own teatime chat show?
I'm excited, but also really nervous. Doing five shows a week for a six-week run is going to be a steep learning cuve, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.
You're best known for your theatre work. Will this be a part of the show?
There's been a huge resurgence in musical theatre thanks to shows like Glee. there will be items on it and I'll certainly be singing, but it's not a musical theatre show.
So what else can viewers expect to see?
It'll be a real afternoon treat with celebritites, music, cooking and topical discussion. We'll also be meeting some interesting people - not just celebrities but real people with stories to tell.
If you could choose an ideal guest, who would it be?
I think my ideal guest would be Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. She's had a fascinating life and I think she'd be really funny, too!
Will there be any fun and games?
Both my guests and I will take part in challenges similar to The Generation Game! Playing Edna in Hairspray menas I love dressing up - but you won#t get me in a banana suit!
You recently appeared as a guest judge on Dancing on Ice. Would you ever be a contestant on a reality show?
No way! I'm far too insecure and competitive. Also, working in theatre, you're being judged all the time - and I'd rather not be told I'm awful in front of millions of people! |
