~ Christmas Fair breaks all records- 09/11/2006 ~

Musical star Michael Ball was guest of honour at a record-breaking Christmas fair in aid of the St Richard's Hospital cancer day unit appeal at Goodwood racecourse on Friday.
The annual event broke all records, attracting about 1,100 shoppers and raising nearly £22,000 for the appeal.

Mr Ball, who spent two hours at the fair and drew the raffle, is a strong supporter of the hospital and the appeal.

He said: "I have a house in West Wittering and my mother lives in Singleton, so it's our local hospital.

"I have used A & E many times and it's great.

"The hospital is a vital part of the community and it's up to people in the community to do whatever they can to support it."
