Anthony Ball


Tony Ball is one of Britain´s top marketeers and one of the most sought after public speakers. Tony started his career off as an apprentice on the shop floor of the Austin Motor Company to become soon the youngest ever Sales Director. He even launched the MINI in the 60s. In his career he had been Chief Executive of major international companies including Ford, Mercedes Benz and General Motors. He was also Chairman and Managing Director of BL Europe and Overseas, as well as World Sales Chief of BL, Rover and Jaguar Cars. He helped them through a hard time.

He was also awarded the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Marketing for hosting new models in the BL, Rover and Jaguar Cars. His credits include also an appointment as Marketing Advisor to three Secretaries of State, including the Secretary of State for Energy.

Not only is he very famous as a successful businessman, but he is also one of the best speakers Britain can offer. He appeared on several broadcasts like "The Money Programme", "Start the Week", "Top Gear" and a panelist on BBC´s "Any Questions". Furthermore he is a frequent guest on radio and TV celebrity chat shows and documentaries.
He is famous for his great sense of humour and his profound practical experience of marketing and management at the highest level. All his speeches are unique and individually put together for the certain occasion. Always when he leaves he has highly entertained his audience as well as enlightened and motivated.

Today Tony is the Chairman of TBA plc. This company is responsible for producing the staging of shows like: The Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Rugby World Cup, the Cricket World Cup, the Euro 96 at Wembley Stadium for the Football Association, the British International Motor Show for the SMMT; the Scottish Motor Show, the Centenary celebrations for the world´s Motor industry in Britain, the Lloyds Private Banking Playwright of the Year Awards, the pre-match entertainment at the FA Cup Final, the 125th Anniversary Celebrations of the RFU, the Five Nations Championships and major internationals at Twickenham, as well as the Ceremony for the Opening Game at the new Stade de France in Paris for the FRR.

Tony is a Freeman of the City of London and was awarded the Prince Philip Medal for his contribution to British Marketing and he was honoured with the MBE from Her Majesty The Queen for his outstanding service to industry.
Friends say about Tony that his real claim to fame is that he is the father of West End Star Michael Ball!
