It was late 1993 or early '94, when I bought myself The Very Best of Andrew Lloyd Webber CD, the time when I was still in a Michael WHO stages!! I played it for my mum, while I was working, and later she told me to play it again, as there's a guy she wanted me to listen to. So I listened, and listened...and listened...and have never stopped listening to him since!!!!

I started ordering "Hello" magazine, with the hope that the curly-haired, dimpled man with the golden throat will be featured in it, and started haunting the CD stores. I tried to order Michael's CDs through the stores, but to no avail. Four years later, I managed to buy my first ever Michael CD -- The Musicals, and my!!! I recall I couldn't stop grinning the whole day. The high point came, when Andrew Lloyd Webber -- 50th Birthday Celebrations was shown on cable TV in April 1999, that was the first time I actually saw Michael perform, and I was completely hooked!! When I went to Sydney, Australia at the end of '99, all my money was spent, not on clothes and shoes, but on Les Mis TAC, Best of ALW video, as well as AOL CDs, and others. That was the time when Michael performed in Malaysia, of which I was blissfully unaware!!!! Later when he performed in Sydney, I was stuck here in Malaysia!! Talk about bad timing, on my part!! I bought a computer in August 2000, and a new world opened up before me. I spent hours surfing through Michael-related sites, posted on forums, and in the process, getting to know some like-minded friends!! Oh yes, and started purchasing through the internet!! If anyone asks me now, how a Michael-fan's life was like before owning a computer, my answer will be : DARK AGES!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, Kerstin, for JustBall.Net.
